Happy Pride Month.
I want to begin with gratitude.
Gratitude for the queer people who have loved boldly, created community, challenged norms, and imagined more expansive ways of being in relationship. Gratitude for the activists who fought for rights many of us now benefit from. Gratitude for the people who are still finding the courage to be themselves in a world that does not always make that easy.
As a Somatica-trained sex and relationship coach, Pride feels deeply connected to the work I care about most.
At its heart, my work is about helping people become more fully themselves.
It’s about discovering what you actually want instead of what you’ve been told you should want.
It’s about learning to listen to your body, your desires, your boundaries, and your longings.
It’s about finding relationships where you don’t have to perform, mask, shrink, or pretend.
As a neurodivergent person, I know how exhausting it can be to feel like there is a “right” way to be. A right way to communicate. A right way to love. A right way to experience attraction, sexuality, gender, or partnership.
The truth is that human beings are wonderfully diverse.
There are countless ways to build a life. Countless ways to create intimacy. Countless ways to experience connection.
Pride reminds us that authenticity is not selfish. It is a gift.
When one person becomes more fully themselves, it creates a little more room for everyone else to do the same.
This month, I’m celebrating queer joy, queer resilience, queer love, and queer community.
I’m also celebrating the courage it takes for any of us to ask:
Who am I when I stop performing?
What do I want when I stop trying to get it right?
What becomes possible when I trust that love is available exactly as I am?
Happy Pride Month.
May you find spaces where you can show up more fully as yourself.
May you experience relationships that celebrate your uniqueness.
And may you remember that authenticity is not something you earn.
It’s something you practice.
With love,
Luke
